Legacy Series

Virtual Cooking Tutorials featuring Lauren Johnson!

The Legacy Series, which was put on hiatus in March 2020 once the COVID-19 pandemic began, is back for the month of September! We’ll be live-streaming cooking tutorials on our Facebook page and posting them on demand on both our Facebook and YouTube channels. These tutorials are conducted by Lauren Johnson every Wednesday throughout the month of September, and Wood’s Super Market has all of the ingredients for each recipe available.

Lauren is a Professional Plant-Based Chef through Rouxbe Online Culinary School, a Food for Life Instructor through the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, and has a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate through the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. She reads cookbooks in her free time, enjoys gardening and hiking with her husband, and will serve a delicious, plant-based meal or snack to anyone who enters her home! Lauren’s goal is to help others make mindful decisions about their diet and see how it affects them in all dimensions of wellness. She loves making cooking fun, educational, and accessible and enjoyable for everyone!

You can find all of Lauren’s Legacy Series tutorials on our Facebook and YouTube page, and you can learn more about Lauren on her Facebook page.

Previous Legacy Series Events

February 2020: Flex Fitness Free Classes Week
January 2020: Finding Purpose: Where You Are and the Future featuring TJ Warren

Sidebar: We had some great things planned for the rest of the year, including a Tax Talk, Block Party, Brand Awareness Seminar, a Retro Movie Night, and much more, but they were put on hold once COVID-19 hit. Although we’re working on implementing some virtual substitutions, they will not be consistent every month as we originally intended. This page will be updated as we begin rolling out our virtual ideas, but to stay in touch as you wait, please follow our Facebook page.

Origin Story of the Legacy Series

The Legacy Series was created with the intention to create opportunities for community members to connect and network with one another through social and educational events. Most of the events are free to attend and open to the public.
