Heritage Days

In conjunction with the county fair - Third WeekeNd of July

Summer activities to the max! A parade, lots of food, inflatables, block party, live music and fun activities for all ages! Heritage Days is your summer celebration that draws people from all across the nation to enjoy their hometown for a weekend. Heritage Days is by far the biggest celebration of the year in Pocahontas, so come join in on the fun!

Heritage Days takes place on the third weekend of July with the County Fair and has activities located throughout all of Pocahontas.

Art in the Park

Wednesday Evenings in June & July @ 6:30 PM

Looking for a mix of live music? Bring a lawn chair to Heritage Park and enjoy a taste of our local talent! Running every Wednesday in June and July, you can find musicians playing and/or singing at the heart of Main Street in downtown Pocahontas. Enjoy eating out at a local restaurant before the show starts or pick up some popcorn from the Rialto!

Princess City Car Show

Annually the Third Saturday of August from 3 - 6 PM

Come one come all to the Princess City Car Show! Enjoy some oldies and goodies by bringing your show car to display, or simply walk Main Street and appreciate the pristine vehicles. No pre-registration, just stop by washed and ready to show! This is a free event with great food, music for the ages, door prizes, and plenty of cars!

Princess City Carnival

Annually the third weekend of August

The Princess City Carnival is a summer send-off community event that features Scott Amusements. It pccurs the third weekend of August with a focus on family fun! Conveniently, that is the same weekend as Princess City Car Show and Princess City Comic Con! Kids can enjoy the carnival on the north end of Main Street while car enthusiasts can enjoy the cars on the south end Saturday afternoon. There are plenty of carnival food options, a total of 6 - 8 carnival rides for varying ages, and carnival games to enjoy.

PocaHAUNTus - Haunted House Event

Last tHREE weekends in October

Looking for a scary good time? The Pocahontas Chamber and Pocahontas Fire Department team up to put on a thrilling Haunted House event! It is located off of Highway 4 at the Firemen’s shed next to the Fire Station. It occurs annually on the last three Fridays and Saturdays of October. Lights On runs from 6 - 7 PM for those who prefer no jump scares and to admire the décor, while Lights Off takes place 7 - 10 PM. Join us for this exciting new event in Pocahontas!

Trunk or Treat

Annually on Halloween

Trick or Treat on the safety of Main Street’s sidewalks. Participating businesses and individuals back their vehicles up to the curb to hand out candy. Kids and adults of all ages are invited to participate! Put on your best Halloween costume and join in on the fun!

Leonard Olson Memorial Art Walk

Annually on Small Business Saturday, 10 AM - 2 PM

Kickstart your holiday shopping in Pocahontas while enjoying arts of all shapes and sizes! Artists, crafters and vendors from all over gather on Main Street in Pocahontas to sell and display their goods. Live performances, music, unique home-crafted goods, quilts, and fruit art have all been at previous shows.

Hometown Christmas

Annually the second weekend of december

Christmas spirit is in the air! Hometown Christmas happens at the end of the second week in December, typically Thursday - Saturday, and features several local stores running special deals for the holiday season. You can also usually expect to enjoy a light parade, luminaries on Main Street, festive lighting around town, special events, and a visit from the big jolly man himself!
